Resumen
This work was developed under the Master's program in Mathematics Education at the University of Medellin and started from the need to identify the difficulties faced by students in the seventh grade of educational institutions Entrerríos and Emiliano Garcia when faced with tasks understanding of statistical tables and graphs, as essential to enhance thinking skills random element. As part of the proposed solution to the issues raised, it was proposed to characterize the responses of students at a level of understanding, according to the hierarchical model proposed by Aoyama (2007), which is a based on Taxonomy SOLO model, proposed by Biggs and Collis (1982), where the importance of paying attention to observable results of students is highlighted. Intervention activities in which environmental instruments were used as utility bills, technological tools such as software, computer, calculator and videos, to allow passage to higher levels in the hierarchy of understanding were implemented. With the above came to the design and subsequent implementation of activities that contributed to the achievement of the proposed objectives and allowed to generate an alternative solution to the problem found, so that the passage was made possible higher levels of understanding to those found initially and from using some keywords that guided the search for useful documents for the development of this research.
