La autonomía educativa indígena es todavía un sueño en Colombia. Los territorios indígenas todavía no pueden administrar libremente sus recursos, aunque avances significativos se han realizado en el país para integrar las comunidades a las decisiones que competen: a sus gentes, en la administración de sus tierras, la aplicación de una justicia autóctona y el respeto de una cultura propia. El concepto que se ha ido desarrollando ha sido el de educación dentro de su etnodesarrollo, que les permite a estas comunidades decidir sobre su forma de vida, de producción y de regulación. Pero su desarrollo legislativo y jurisprudencial todavía está en construcción.
The indigenous educational autonomy in Colombia is still a dream. The indigenous territories cannot be part of the administration of its resources, although significant advances has been done in the country to integrate the communities to the decisions of its people regarding the administration of its lands, the application of an autonomy justice and the respect of a proper culture. The concept that has been developed has been education inside its ethno-develop, that permit those communities to decide over its style of life, production and regulations, but its development over legislative and jurisprudence is still in construction.
