Resumen
The objective of this study was to strengthen reading comprehension through the exploration of children's stories, as a didactic strategy applied to third-grade students of the Pueblo Nuevo School at the San Pablo Industrial Educational Institution in Istmina, Chocó. Through the qualitative approach from the participant action, the researchers aimed to develop a method of documentary analysis, along with the search for theoretical information; as well as direct observation made by the researchers (teachers), at the time of carrying out the diagnostic test, with a group of 26 selected students. Supported by the theories of Vygotsky (1996), Ausubel (1976), Brunner (1998) and the implicit principles in Meirieu's pedagogy (1949), this research project aimed to identify who requires what to learn, as part of everyday life. Based on contributions from the literature, data collection techniques established from the observations, and semi-structured interviews supported by the Glater method, will facilitate the interpretation exercise through the respective categorization and triangulation of the information collected. The results show that reading children's stories represents a powerful strategy and its implementation allowed evaluating aspects such as reading fluency, mastery and interpretation of the topic read, respect for punctuation marks, elaboration of hypotheses or inferences, amplitude in the images. of the narrated texts.
