Resumen
This study aimed to analyze the key factors behind the “nature-deficit disorder” currently affecting children and teenagers, from a pedagogical and social perspective. An extensive literature review was conducted, identifying four primary factors: the progressive urbanization of living environments, parental overprotection, oversaturated school schedules, and the proliferation of electronic technologies. Findings reveal a significant reduction in the time children spend in contact with nature, which negatively affects their well-being and the development of environmental awareness. The main conclusion emphasizes the urgent need to reinstate nature into the daily lives of children and adolescents to promote a lifestyle that benefits both their health and the planet’s sustainability.
