Resumen

The research was carried out at the IE Miguel Antonio Caicedo Mena in the municipality of Quibdó - Chocó. Among the particularities of the population are: the high level of vulnerability due to extreme poverty, unsatisfied basic needs, forced displacement, dysfunctional homes, abandonment, extramural violence, etc., these conditions re-victimize the youth population, making it easy prey for the local crime, so they are prone to adopting violent behaviors typical of their environment and their life experiences, which they replicate in their places of socialization, school being one of them. From the methodological point of view, the research adheres to a socio-critical paradigm with a qualitative approach, where after the application of the Participatory Action Research -IAP method, it was possible to have a deeper look at the phenomenon studied to guide the intervention to be carried out. The techniques used for data collection were: surveys, interviews, and direct and participant observation, which were applied to a population of 144 sixth grade students, 140 parents, 12 teachers with academic assignment in sixth grade and 3 managers as a result of applying the sample size formula. Finally, the analysis of the phenomenon studied, gave rise to the implementation of the proposal entitled "Sports breaks: a pedagogical proposal for the improvement of school coexistence at the IE Miguel Antonio Caicedo Mena de Quibdó" from which it was possible to reduce the situations of coexistence that affected the daily life of the school day.
