Resumen
The main objective of this project is to make visible the Afro-descendant cultural heritage, represented in the oral tradition of the Colombian Pacific, in terms of dances, songs, poetry, games and rounds. These elements of oral tradition served as the basis for the design of a didactic strategy called “Sabedoras en el aula”, which is focused on strengthening reading comprehension skills at the inferential level. The research was divided into three stages: identification of the problem and development of the preliminary project; development and application of the teaching strategy; and analysis of the impact of the implementation for the teaching strategy, under a qualitative perspective, with an action-research approach. The participants under study were students in the 3rd and 5th grades of the basic primary education cycle, from two public institutions in the department of Chocó, in the Colombian Pacific. These students were given a characterization test in language, within the framework of the Todos a Aprender Program, PTA, in the year 2020 and, with this test, besides the daily activities carried out in the different areas of knowledge, the existence of deficiencies in reading comprehension was determined. As a result, in the year 2021, the intervention was oriented with a didactic strategy mediated by the oral tradition of the Colombian Pacific, in which knowledgeable women from the municipalities of Istmina and Medio San Juan, expressed in their stories practices of oral tradition, which were then the subject of analysis to carry out reading comprehension activities at the inferential level. The findings determined the impact of the implementation of the didactic strategy; in addition, they made it possible to demonstrate the relevance of this strategy in the intervention of reading comprehension processes at the inferential level.
