This research is framed in a critical emancipatory vision, carried out under the qualitative research approach, with the Action-Research strategy. It was developed with students of third grade of primary school, of the Educational Institution José Antonio Galán, in La Estrella (Antioquia), whose objective was to analyze the contribution to the improvement of the school coexistence, from a strategy of citizen formation, with a focus on care of the other, in children of that institution. Thus, it was possible to distinguish five categories of analysis: interpersonal conflicts, verbal aggressions, physical aggressions, non-compliance with tasks and disrespect for personal belongings; From these categories, five intervention cycles were carried out, based on planning-action-observation-reflection, as components of self-care actions and those of others, with the aim of developing Citizen Competences in the participants. For the collection of the data and intervention of the detected problems, techniques were used such as: the narrative-descriptive system, the focal group strategy, reflective-collaborative workshop, the life stories strategy, cinema forum, as well as participant observation. The work carried out and the analysis of the research allow us to conclude that school coexistence, from an ethic of care, can be improved if the actors involved in school interrelations are able to recognize the human being that lives in each other, this, because the stories of life allow to unveil or uncover their humanity.
