Diagnostico financiero en el sector minero – carbonífero: caso empresa Drummond LTD

Abstract

The Work of grade was did with the objective to know the financial situation and the evolution that has been the industries of coal mining in Colombia. The industry that was used was Drummond Ltd, it is the second biggest production of coal in the World. The methodology that was used in this project was qualitative and quantitative, because it was based in recollection of information about the sector and the company. This information was used to do the Financial Diagnosis. The results permitted to know what is the status of the industry. In conclusión, Drummond Ltd is profitable, but it depend to the political, social economic environment, this information is evident in the financial status. 2013 was the more critic year because the strikes, sanctions and stoppages. This situación was reflected in the production, sales and indexes. During the years analized, the company was profitable but without generation of value. For that reason recommend assess the company strategy and the financial structure, because it need to accomplish the financial basic objective.
