Current markets demand high competitiveness, globalization, and technological development, and for this purpose knowledge management is a key factor as a tool for achieving the organizations sustainable development. Accordingly, the organizations are required to develop neccesary skills for acquiring information and transforming it into knowledge as an attempt to generate learning through its implementation. This is really importat since organizations should adjust to a changing and challenging envorinment where threats can be converted into opportunities. To date, la Empresa de Transporte Masivo del Valle de Aburrá – Metro de Medellín has implemented different mobility solutions for the Valle de Aburrá. Any generated dynamic has been leveraged by the area of information management technologies, but currently does not have processes to capitalize and organize all knowledge assests that where generated during this time. For this reason, this case study is intented to propose a knowledge management model for Metro de Medellín information technology management area in such a way that a dynamic process can be created for permanent adoption, transfer, and improvement of knowledge which allows levering the main business processes and assuring both sustainabiblity and generation of competitive advantages.
