In this thesis entitled Incidence of the meaning of life in the performance of tests to know 9th of two official educational institutions in the city of Medellin, we sought to answer the research question What is the level of the sense of life of 9th grade adolescents of the EI Republic of Uruguay and Antonio Derka Santo Domingo and the relationship with their performances in Saber? For this, 60 students participated, in ages ranging from 14 to 19 years, all of the 9th grade, 30 of each Educational Institution, the data obtained from the performances in the Saber test were analyzed; the subjects participating in this study also concur the Dimensional Scale of Sense of Life (EDSV), to expand and give greater depth to the information obtained 20 students of the 60 participants, chosen at random, answered a semi-structured interview. The Dimensional Life Sense Scale was validated for Colombia by Efrén Martínez and others, this constant of 18 items, located in two subscales, vital Purpose and existential coherence. The research methodology used is of a mixed nature, the quality given both numerical values and perceptions from the staff of the participants, registering a research product that extends beyond hermeneutics, recording the broad understanding of the phenomenon in question. In the analysis of the information obtained, it is possible to account for the levels of meaning of life and its relationship with the performances in the Saber tests, in addition to affirming the hypothesis of direct relationship between the analyzed variables, that is, a greater or lesser sense. of life, mayor or minor is the performance of students at the academic level. Finally, in the present investigation, intervention strategies are proposed, with the purpose of generating reflective spaces at the institutional level that enable personal elaborations with the purpose of favoring the development and strength of the students' sense of life and that this results in the Improvement of their lives.
