Resumen
This research sought to strengthen the reading comprehension at the inferential level of the fifth-grade students of the Miguel Antonio Caicedo Mena Educational Institution, in the Municipality of Quibdó, through the implementation of strategies that are based on reading aloud. List of traditional tales from the Chocoana region. The general objective was based on resinifying the value of traditional tales as a tool for improving reading comprehension. The methodology used in this research work is qualitative, and the action-participation method was applied, a population of 75 students was taken into account with a sample unit of analysis of 20 students of the selected grade, techniques of input, notebooks, oral reading workshops where 7 stories from the Chocoana region were taken into account, surveys and exit tests. All this, to identify reading levels and their improvement, this was evidenced through the analysis of results, where they went from a minimum level to a satisfactory and advanced level. It was also evidenced that the students not only enjoyed the methodology, but that in that enjoyment there was an awareness of the importance of these stories from the region for their own learning. It is hoped that this research will be taken into account in the I.E. To continue improving in the process of developing inferential reading.
