Habilidades lectoras a partir de textos multimodales : Una secuencia didáctica desde la lectura comprensiva en estudiantes del grado tercero de básica primaria

"The research took place at the Félix Henao educational institution in Medellín, where the authors work as teachers, and took place during 2017 with group of third graders. The goal of the project was the strengthening of the students reading skills, considering the low scores obtained in the national Language Knowledge Tests (Pruebas Saber) during the last four years. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was privileged, where the document review and classroom work were combined to construct the didactic sequence: ""Our city more than words"" (-Nuestra ciudad más que palabras?), in which strategies such as sonidos e imágenes de la ciudad, gesticuentos, construyendo murales, círculos de palabras, nos vemos en el blog, among others. Using the diversity of texts such as: el barrio, fotografías, videos, cuentos, murales, retahílas, versos, trovas, refranes,and canciones. With the listed strategies, it became possible to strengthen students reading comprehension, substantiated by skill improvement, such as the elaboration of explanations and inferences about what I have seen and/or read, comparisons development, establishing similarities and differences, dictionary consultation, summaries realization, to mention some. Moreover, the group of third graders improved their results within 21% located in the advanced level and 46% in the adequate level of the 2017 knowledge tests. To emphasize in the students, the value given to the neighborhood tours, those spaces inhabited by them, whose reading allowed them to construct new meanings and, by the teachers, by recognizing in the participant research a greater availability for learning."
