The education is a fundamental activity in the life of every human being, the acquire knowledges and experiences in the education lets take decisions that impact them personally, professionally and socialy. This is when the election of the best educative institution become a determinant factor in each person's life, especially for the parents who should take the better decision for their children. This investigation determines the aspects that influence in the parent s decision to choose the preschool or primary school for their children, taking as case of study the UPB School. For this study, was made a qualitative - descriptive investigation with an exploratory scope of transversal cut. Then an information analysis from primary fonts was made, obtained through individual depth interviews with semi-structured questions, applied to a sample of families from the preschool and primary school of UPB School. The study showed that the integral formation, the academic level and the proximity (location) of the institution to the family's place of residence are the aspects that parents consider when they begin the process of searching and choosing the educational institution.
