Abstract

"The present work emerge as a result of the research process entitled ""Strengthening of the competence by listening through a didactic unit related to natural resources"" during which it was sought to contribute to the improvement of pedagogical practices in the Institución Educativa Antonio Derka Santo Domingo through the design, application and analysis of a Didactic Unit raised in the English language for students of the fifth grade through which the topics of the Natural Sciences are addressed. Framed in a qualitative paradigm with a critical social approach, the research allowed to highlight those elements that, framed in the listening, motivation, comprehension and question categories, configure expedited scenarios for the personal and social development of the student, generating significant transformations in the way in which he perceives the world around him while it was possible to establish methodological paths that allowed students to approach the strengthening of their communicative competences in a second language in a ludic and dynamic learning environment."
