This report presents the results of a qualitative hermeneutic research, entitled "Appreciations of the CES university teachers, about the importance of pedagogic formation in the course of their work," which took place in the second half of 2010 in the city of Medellin. For such purposes, we had a sample of 8 teachers from different schools and programs of the institution, who, through an interview, released its assessment about the importance of pedagogic formation in higher education level. The results realized challenges faced by them when they did not have such training. They were also question about the competences required by the university teachers and finally their opinions about the CES´s teachers training program called Diplomado en Docencia Universitaria. The information collected is converted into useful input for the institution at the moment of defining strategies to train and qualify new teachers. Teaching is one of the three fundamental functions in the mission of the institution.
