Resumen
In the processes of maintenance and rehabilitation of the pavement, it is required to define the objectives according to them. These targets must not only be associated with fixing damages on pavement surface because of water as a consequense of failed water drainage, but also repair the pavement infrastructure making it to its original design conditions. Those objectives involve making a pavement recycling process taking into account the physical-chemical characteristics of already existing relevant materials and from which it is considered they were subjected by changes within a suitable process enabling them to be part of the structure. On the other hand, there are four kinds of pavement recycling. As a result, it is made a general description from them according to each process. This thesis is focused on financial and technical analysis of the cold recycling ‗In Situ‘ process applied to rehabilitate the vía Sopetrán—Puente de Occidente-- located in Antioquia, Department, in a length of 13 kilometers. This study is verifying compliance with the existing Colombian standards set out for this type of pavement recycling processes according to Instituto Nacional de Vías (INVIAS), and checking the compliance of IDU ET-2005 standards, as well. The cold recycling ‗In-Situ‘ offers ecological advantages: --The possible source of local materials in the area is not affected by this process, it is more economical than rebuild the pavement--. And Technical advantages: --The machinery for these recycling processes is high-performance--. In fact, it was used in the rehabilitation of the above-mentioned route. In addition to, a stabilising agent was used --cement in this case for this study-- to recover the original design in the repaired infrastructure. The decision tree or influence diagram is a useful tool to analize and select the best option of making the structure taking into account its costs and quality. This study is concluded on analysis of detailed existing conditions; different options of pavement intervention, and the economics study about different alternatives of pavement structures to rehabilitate the above-mentioned road were reviewed.
