Resumen
Restorative justice is an approach that allows recognizing and attend the needs of victims, offenders and the community; hence the only way to direct criminal justice towards a restorative approach is to put victims in their rightful place in crime, because they are the epicenter of suffering and pain. In this way, solutions to the prison system can be generated through the transformation of the different realities of people deprived of liberty in relation to their sentence, because their rights are frequently violated due to overcrowding. For this reason is pertinent to speak of restorative justice, because the practices that have historically been carried out to punish crimes have not provided a solution to victims, also the offenders are not motivated nor allowed to have an integral transformation that allows to acquire an active responsibility of the actions committed.
