Mining in the Sinifaná basin has been traditionally artisanal mining, where the minimum conditions of safety and treat disrespectfully the rules which govern, there is economic unsustainability of the business, a society without a culture of savings and deteriorating ecosystems that exist in the natural environment. This region is not formed by the municipalities of Angelópolis, Amagá, Titiribí, Fredonia and Venecia, where the main economic activity is coal mining, and where a higher percentage of this is have been doing as illegal way, due to the lows profits generated by Business, and the state neglect, besides of lack of legislation. Currently there are approximately 758 illegal mines in the Sinifaná basin, which initiate exploration and development stage without an initial feasibility project, extracting coal without technology and demands required by the entities of the governments, generating an unsustainable business, where the dealers make a profit greater than the miners and imbalance in the cost – benefit. The proposal of assessment the miners project feasibility shown in this work, could be guide those who wish to venture into the activity, achieving better development and sustainability.
