Resumen
This report presents the results of a research whose objective was to understand the relationship between the socio-emotional skills of teachers and the work environment of two public educational institutions in the municipality of Itagüí. The research was approached from the qualitative paradigm with a hermeneutic approach. In the fieldwork, surveys, semi-structured interviews and, finally, a focus group were conducted to deepen the teachers' perceptions of their socio-emotional skills and the work environment of the institutions. The competences on which this research was centered are empathy, prosocial behavior, communication, assertiveness and emotional regulation. To determine the working environment of both institutions, the EDCO scale was used, which is used to identify the perception that individuals have of the environment within the organization and the vision that the organization has about them; for socio-emotional competences, semi-structured interviews and to establish the relationship between both, a focus group was carried out.
