The department of Antioquia is a region with strong social problems, marked by political and economic social and regional inequality, where there are clear: (1) the participation of different actors to promote development and (2) the state of knowledge , by different social groups, categories, development, equity, equality and poverty as ends and means of planning for development. This paper explores the status of private sector knowledge of the concepts of development, poverty, equity and equality as the end of the regional development planning. Justified the idea that beliefs and values associated actors, provide key information that helps planners and other decision makers in developing the strategy for development. Initially, we present a review of key development concepts with emphasis on identifying techniques for analysis from the idea of imaginary, then it sets the state of knowledge of the categories of development from the view of some actors who represent the market as an institution, and identify the actions of these agents in development planning. To this end, it asks for private sector participation in planning and conducting activities to enhance development and reduce poverty.
