La investigación que se presenta fue diseñada para comparar las competencias científicas desarrolladas por los estudiantes del grado cuarto de la Institución Educativa Agroecológica Misael Soto Córdoba, del Chocó con relación a los estándares básicos de competencias de la primera etapa de primaria en el área de ciencias naturales en el año 2023, y se construyó bajo el enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño observacional, de campo, con alcance descriptivo. Contó con la participación de 17 estudiantes de básica primaria a los que se les aplicó una encuesta bajo la modalidad de cuestionario auto administrado, con 40 ítems, que articulan los tres pensamientos de ciencias naturales, y a partir de los resultados se analizó de forma comparativa el nivel de competencia científica, de cada uno de ellos, de acuerdo a lo dispuesto en los estándares básicos de competencias. Los resultados evidenciaron que el 53% de los estudiantes presentan mayor déficit en el desarrollo de sus competencias científicas, toda vez que no lograron responder correctamente más del 25% de los ítems del cuestionario auto suministrado y fueron ubicados en el nivel bajo; de igual forma, se encontró que un 29% de los estudiantes demostró menos déficit de competencia científica respecto al grupo anterior, toda vez que lograron responder hasta el 50% de los ítems del cuestionario, por eso fueron ubicados el nivel básico. De igual modo se encontró que un 18% de los estudiantes fueron los que demostraron mayores habilidades científicas, toda vez que lograron responder acertadamente hasta el 75% de los ítems propuesto. Cabe decir, que ningún estudiante logró responder más el 75% de los ítems del cuestionario por tal razón ninguno logró ubicarse en el nivel superior.
The research presented was designed to compare the scientific competencies developed by the fourth-grade students of the Agroecológica Misael Soto Córdoba educational institution, in Chocó, in relation to the basic competency standards of the first stage of primary school in the area of natural sciences in the year 2023, and it was built under the quantitative approach, with an observational design, with a descriptive scope and field research. It had the participation of 17 basic elementary students to whom a survey was applied under the modality of a self-administered questionnaire, with 40 items that articulate the three thoughts of natural sciences, and from the results the study was comparatively analyzed. Level of scientific competence, of each of them, under the provisions of the basic standards of competencies. The results showed that 53% of the students presented a greater deficit in the development of their scientific competences since they failed to answer correctly more than 25% of the items in the self-administered questionnaire and were located at the low level; similarly, it was found that 29% of the students had less deficit in scientific competence compared to the previous group, since they managed to answer up to 50% of the items in the questionnaire, which is why they were placed at the basic level. Likewise, it was found that 18% of the students were the ones who demonstrated the least major scientific skills since they managed to correctly answer up to 75% of the proposed items. It should be said that no student will modify answering more than 75% of the items in the questionnaire, for this reason, none will modify being located in the higher level.
