Resumen
The National Female and Male Researchers’ System (SNII, acronym for its Spanish name) has become a critical factor that impacts Mexican researchers’ academic performance. Therefore, this article aims to learn about academics’ perceptions at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) regarding their incorporation and permanence in the SNII. The study is based on a theoretical conceptual perspective known as phenomenology, complemented with a qualitative methodology, whose data collection was carried out with semi-structured interviews. The study concluded that the interviewees’ experiences allowed researchers to understand their reality at SNII. This research provides the actors’ perspective of the teaching situation in Mexican higher education. This has been incorporated into the evaluation by results schemes consolidated as an indispensable necessity in the face of the labor market’s increasingly high demands, and provides economic, professional, and personal security.
